Sorensen doubt for Villa
Aston Villa have a major doubt over goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen for Sunday’s local derby at Birmingham.
Sorensen suffered a hamstring injury playing for Denmark on Wednesday against Kazakhstan.
Stuart Taylor, who joined Villa from Arsenal in the summer, has been primed to make his debut if Sorensen is ruled out.
Villa hope to welcome back striker Kevin Phillips and defender Aaron Hughes.
Phillips has missed the last four games with a calf strain while Hughes had hernia surgery last month and the duo could both be on the bench.
Right-back Mark Delaney, who has yet to play for Villa this season following a knee operation, is missing after picking up a chest infection while with Wales.
Striker Milan Baros is in danger of missing his third successive Villa game after aggravating an Achilles problem while on international duty with the Czech Republic.
Midfielders Gavin McCann and Lee Hendrie are both still sidelined after knee surgery.
