Mourinho defends Chelsea defence

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has dismissed suggestions he will make a move for Deportivo La Coruna centre-back Jorge Andrade.

Andrade, 27, has been impressive for his Spanish club, and for Portugal during the European Championships last summer.

There had been suggestions William Gallas was unsettled at Stamford Bridge but Mourinho insists he is not looking to bolster his defence, believing the link to be deliberately disruptive.

“I am fed up with these stories,” Mourinho said. “Chelsea have four of the best central defenders in the world and it is ridiculous that we would be interested in another player for that position.”

He added: “Do not play around with Chelsea. I cannot accept this kind of manoeuvre.”
