Former Manchester United star George Best is in a “serious but improving” condition in intensive care after being struck down by an infection, his doctor said today.

Former Manchester United star George Best is in a “serious but improving” condition in intensive care after being struck down by an infection, his doctor said today.

Best was admitted to the private Cromwell Hospital in west London on Saturday suffering from ‘flu-like symptoms.
