More delays for Carsley
Everton midfielder Lee Carsley has been ruled out for another six weeks after being forced undergo a second knee operation.
The 31-year-old originally had surgery on a medial ligament injury in the summer and had expected to be fully fit for the new campaign.
However, Carsley suffered a setback during the Toffeemen’s trip to Thailand for the FA Premier League Asia Trophy in July.
Although he has worked hard trying to regain fitness, Everton’s medical staff became concerned the injury was not healing as they wanted, prompting Carsley to go under the knife once more.
The surgeon discovered a piece of the ligament was not healing properly, so it is now hoped Carsley will be back in action sometime in late November.
