Mourinho could get passionate about England job
Jose Mourinho believes an Englishman should be in charge of the English national side but feels another five years in London may give him the passion for the job.
Portuguese Mourinho, who led Chelsea to the English Premiership title in his first season at Stamford Bridge, is under contract until 2010.
By then, Mourinho expects to feel âmore Englishâ and hinted he may be keen on leading the national side.
Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson, the current England coach, has been under pressure since Englandâs defeat to Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier.
But Mourinho has no intention of offering his services before next yearâs World Cup finals in Germany.
âItâs true part of me already feels like an Englishman,â Mourinho told Time Out magazine. âAnd if I stay here for the next five years, up to the end of my contract, I will feel even more English.
âIf players spend that amount of time in another country, they can change their passport and play for that country.
âWith six years of loving and living in London, I will have something of England and its people in my heart. So I could do it in a professional way and also with my heart.
âI still think itâs really a job for an English person. And for the moment itâs for Sven.â
