Late brace see students snatch place in final

Shelbourne threw away a League Cup final place in dramatic fashion as UCD scored two late, late goals to stun Tolka Park.

Shels dominated and finally scored what looked the winner on 86 minutes when Colin Hawkins scooped home after Glen Crowe's header came back off a post.

But UCD levelled right on 90 minutes when Anto Murphy put Brian Gannon through to lob goalkeeper Steve Williams.

Then, three minutes into stoppage time, a bad back pass gifted Robbie Martin a clear run on goal and he rounded Williams to score and put UCD into the final against either Derry City or Longford Town.
