Declan O’Brien punished defensive hesitancy to earn Drogheda their first win in seven games as Blues’ dreadful run continued.

The only goal came on 36 minutes when a moment’s indecision between Blues' keeper Packie Holden and central defender Kevin Doherty gifted the ball to O’Brien, who ran through to score.

Blues’ Pat Purcell did have the ball in the net on 89 minutes, but it was ruled out for offside.
