Kirkland in frame at West Brom
Chris Kirkland could make his West Brom debut because last season’s first-choice goalkeeper Russell Hoult is ruled out of the trip to Manchester City with a groin injury.
Kirkland, signed on a season-long loan from Liverpool, will by vying with Tomasz Kuszczak for the number one jersey against Stuart Pearce’s side at Eastlands.
Steve Watson, a free transfer signing from Everton, is likely to start at right-back and Junichi Inamoto's performances in pre-season means the midfielder is also in contention.
Kanu has also been impressive during the summer after a mixed first season at The Hawthorns and the ex-Arsenal striker could partner skipper Kevin Campbell in attack.
