Bellamy in line for debut

Craig Bellamy looks set to win his fight to be fit in time for Blackburn’s Barclays Premiership opener against West Ham at Upton Park tomorrow.

Bellamy, 26, has missed much of his new club’s pre-season with an ankle injury but has responded well to treatment this week and will be declared available provided he suffers no last-minute reaction.

New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen is a major doubt with a knee injury and the game is also likely to come to soon for leg-injury victim Matt Jansen, while Lorenzo Amoruso (knee) is definitely out.

Team (from): Friedel, Neill, Todd, Flitcroft, Nelsen, Emerton, Savage, Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy, Pedersen, Reid, Mokoena, Tugay, Gresko, Thompson, Gallagher, Matteo, McEveley, Gray, Enckelman.
