Fuller completes Saints move
Ricardo Fuller has completed his move to Southampton after being granted a work permit.
The 25-year-old Jamaican striker had his case approved yesterday and could make his Saints debut tomorrow following a £90,000 (€129,400) move from bitter rivals Portsmouth.
Redknapp had been facing problem in attack for the Coca-Cola Championship clash with Wolves with the sale of Peter Crouch, Kevin Phillips and Henri Camara and a new injury setback for Marian Pahars.
The club have also signed Algerian midfielder Djamel Belmadi, 29, on a month-long deal and he too is in line to make his Saints bow pending international clearance.
The former Manchester City player impressed in pre-season and is looking to show Redknapp he is worth holding onto.
He told the club website: “I enjoyed playing for Southampton in Scotland. I felt I did quite well and I liked the way the team played.
“I hope I can do enough in this month to show I can be a Southampton player because I would like to stay longer.”
Meanwhile 18-year-old striker Leon Best has been allowed to join promoted Sheffield Wednesday on a month’s loan, though he will not be allowed to play in the August 13 clash between the sides.
