Latics set to land Camara

Wigan have agreed a fee with Wolves for striker Henri Camara.

The 28-year-old Senegal international has been back in training with the Championship club, despite refusing to play for Wanderers following their relegation from the Premiership 12 months ago.

Camara subsequently spent the first half of last season on loan at Celtic, for which Wolves received a record £1.5m (€2.2m) loan fee, before spending the second half at Southampton.

He recently vowed to honour his contract at Molineux but now looks set to quit the club after Premiership newcomers Wigan matched Wolves’ undisclosed valuation of the player.

Personal terms are yet to be discussed but a statement from the Black Country club said: “Wolves has this morning confirmed that they have accepted an offer from newly-promoted Wigan Athletic for striker Henri Camara.”
