Given waits before contract talks

Goalkeeper Shay Given intends to wait until next summer before deciding whether his long-term future belongs with Newcastle.

The 29-year-old has been at Newcastle since 1997 and insists he is “in no mad rush” to extend his current contract, which expires at the end of the 2006/7 season.
