Reds head east
Holders Liverpool will play more east European opposition in the third qualifying round of the Champions League if they finish off FK Kaunas if next week’s second leg at Anfield.
The Reds lead their Lithuanian opponents 3-1 after the first leg and will play KF Tirana of Albania or CSKA Sofia of Bulgaria if they progress.
It is another long trip abroad for their much-travelled fans but at least they avoided a Merseyside derby against Everton, who face a fierce test on their Champions League debut against Villarreal, who finished third in Spain’s Primera Liga.
Manchester United face Debrecen of Hungary or Croatians Hajduk Split.
