Shepherd tried to get rid of me: Bowyer

Lee Bowyer has taken a swipe at Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd after apparently making peace with the club.

The midfielder claims Shepherd was determined to sell him this summer, with Birmingham in particular keen to sign the player, following an on-field bust-up with team-mate Kieron Dyer in April.
