Kaunas goal spurs Liverpool response

Liverpool needed the shock of an early goal by Lithuanian champions Kaunas to take a grip on this Champions League second qualifying round clash.

Kaunas sent their fans wild when Giedrius Barevicius punished some sloppy defending with a near-post goal.

But in a four-minute spell Djibril Cisse poached an equaliser with a low hook shot, and then Jamie Carragher powered home a header for his first goal for the club in seven years.
