Keane to miss Far East trip

Manchester United skipper Roy Keane will miss his club’s four-match Far East tour through injury.

The veteran Irishman had been expected to lead the Red Devils on their trip to Hong Kong, China and Japan but instead will remain at United’s Carrington training base for treatment.

While the nature, or extent of the problem is not yet known, it is bound to be a worry for Alex Ferguson, who was hoping not to suffer the same glut of injury problems that affected his team so badly at the start of last season.
