Watford secure King on loan

Watford have signed Nottingham Forest striker Marlon King on loan with a view to a permanent move after being transfer-listed by Reds manager Gary Megson.

The 25-year-old Jamaica international will spend the 2005-06 season at Vicarage Road, although after six months Watford will have the option of making his move permanent for an already-agreed

fee.

A £950,000 signing from Gillingham in November 2003, King fell out of favour under previous manager Joe Kinnear and also failed to impress Megson when he took control at the City Ground in January.

King was later sent out to spend the final two months of last season on loan with Leeds.

He then became one of five players listed by Megson at the end of the 2004-05 campaign which saw Forest relegated to League One.

The other four listed players – David Johnson, Alan Rogers, Kevin James and Adam Nowland – were, like King, also left out of Forest’s pre-season tour of Denmark which began yesterday.
