Danish defender Per Kroldrup is undergoing a medical at Goodison Park ahead of a proposed £5m transfer to Everton.

The Blues agreed the fee for the 25-year-old central defender with Serie A side Udinese last week.

If he passes his medical, Kroldrup will become Everton’s second signing of the summer following the arrival of Simon Davies from Tottenham.

“The club appeals to me and the Premiership would be an interesting place to play,” Kroldrup told www.evertonfc.com.

"It would be a great thing for me to play in one of the best leagues in the world.''

Kroldrup started his career at B93 Copenhagen, before a transfer to Udinese in 2001.

He was a regular contributor in Serie A last season when they finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League.

He made his international debut against Turkey in February last year and has won six caps.
