Quigley pulls out of Rovers purchase plan

Shamrock Rovers’ future is once again in the balance after the front runner to buy the club, Brian Quigley withdrew his bid.

Rovers, trading as Branvard Limited, will now remain in Examinership with court-appointed Examiner Neil Hughes continuing talks with the six other potential investors.

Quigley, who was being backed by Gretna chairman Brooks Mileson, withdrew his bid to purchase the club yesterday following discussions with South Dublin County Council (SDCC) on Tuesday over the status of Rovers’ proposed new home in Tallaght.

Meanwhile, Longford Town are considering banning Shamrock Rovers supporters from attending next week’s clash between the pair at Flancare Park because of the increased security costs attached to the fixture.
