The Football Association today brought a series of charges against football agent Paul Stretford relating to when and how he won the right to represent England striker Wayne Rooney.

The Football Association today brought a series of charges against football agent Paul Stretford relating to when and how he won the right to represent England striker Wayne Rooney.

The charges relate to alleged breaches of the FIFA players’ agents regulations and FA rules, and to the circumstances surrounding how he acquired the right to represent Rooney in 2002/03.

They also relate to the evidence he provided in respect of a case heard at Warrington Crown Court in October 2004.

Stretford has 14 days to respond to the charges.
