Leading fans’ group Shareholders United have reacted with dismay to allegations that Manchester United supporters face a huge rise in ticket prices as a result of Malcolm Glazer’s successful takeover bid.

The Times newspaper claims to have seen documents outlining plans to boost United’s revenues from £161.5m (€240.3m) this year to £246m (€366m) in 2010.
