Didier Drogba will remain at Chelsea next season, according to his advisor.

Drogba joined the Blues for £24m (€34.9m) from Marseille last summer but failed to justify his price-tag, scoring sporadically rather than repeating the form which prompted the Londoners to acquire his services.

The Ivory Coast striker admitted to the French media on Wednesday he felt homesick and has not adapted to life in England.

Tcherno Seydi, assistant of Drogba’s agent Pierre Frelot, told French radio station RTL: “Didier is not very happy at Chelsea.

“The presence of (coach Jose) Mourinho does him good but he does not really enjoy himself on the pitch.

“We will try to find a solution. He will come back to Marseille one day but for now he is with Chelsea.”

Marseille’s major shareholder Robert Louis-Dreyfus, who is currently out of the country, is expected to comment on Drogba’s possible return in the next few days.
