Boro close in on Yakubu deal

Middlesbrough are closing in on a £6.5m (€9.4m) deal to take Portsmouth striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu to the Riverside Stadium.

The 22-year-old Nigerian international was on Teesside today for initial talks over a proposed move which has become one of football’s worst-kept secrets in recent weeks.
