Romanov: Ivanuaskas is an option
Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov insists he has no idea who the next head coach will be but admits former Kaunas manager Valdas Ivanauskas could be a contender.
John Robertson parted company with the club on Monday after rejecting the opportunity to take on the lesser role of assistant head coach as part of a revised coaching structure.
His future had been speculated upon for weeks and former Rangers manager Dick Advocaat, Yeovil’s Gary Johnson, Terry Venables and Roy Hodgson were all linked with the job before Robertson’s departure.
But Romanov claims the process of searching for Robertson’s successor is only just beginning.
He told the Scottish Daily Express: “I don‘t have any candidates in my head for the job at this moment in time.
“We know the sort of characteristics we want but we don‘t have any specific names.”
