Season over for Terry
Chelsea skipper John Terry will play no further part in the club’s historic season.
The England defender is set to undergo surgery on his injured toe this week and the operation has ruled him out of tonight’s game with Manchester United at Old Trafford and the final match of the season at Newcastle.
It will also prevent Terry, who captained Chelsea to their first league title in 50 years, from being involved in the club’s trip to Korea to play Asian champions Suwon Bluewings later this month.
Terry, voted player of the year by his fellow professionals, will also miss out on England’s tour of America because of the operation.
