Norwich midfielder Phil Mulryne, who had less than two months remaining on his current deal, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Norwich midfielder Phil Mulryne, who had less than two months remaining on his current deal, has had his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international, who signed from Manchester United for in 1999, will now concentrate on finding a new club ready for the start of next season.

“I will be sad to leave the club but I do need a fresh start,” he told the club’s website, www.canaries.co.uk.

“I hope the club achieves the results it needs to keep it in the Premiership.”

Norwich manager Nigel Worthington added: “I would like to thank Phil for his services to the football club and wish him all the best in the future, whichever club he finds himself playing for.”
