Derry City and Drogheda United are leading the chase for former Northern Ireland Under-21 defender Darren Kelly.

Derry City and Drogheda United are leading the chase for former Northern Ireland Under-21 defender Darren Kelly.

The former Derry City defender signed for Portadown from Carlisle United last year but is out of contract in May and keen on a return to the eircom League, with Derry and Drogheda both keen on his services.

Drogheda manager Paul Doolin spoke to Kelly last year about a possible move and remains interested, while Derry manager Stephen Kenny is also keen on the bringing the defender back to his home town club.
