Derry go top after derby win

Goals from Mark Farren and Alan Murphy kept Derry’s start to the season blazing as they won this derby to stay top of the Premier Division table.

Derry started brightly, eventually taking the lead on 38 minutes.

Clive Delaney’s shot was parried by Harps’ keeper Gavin Cullen and Farren tapped home.

Gary Beckett was then hauled down inside the area by Ian Rossiter in first-half stoppage time and Murphy made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
