Spurs wait on duo

Tottenham’s leading goalscorer Jermain Defoe and centre-back Anthony Gardner both remain doubtful for tomorrow’s Barclays Premiership clash with Liverpool.

Defoe did not train yesterday after being struck down by illness and a sore throat while Gardner has hardly trained for a fortnight as he continues to be troubled by a foot injury.
