Savage fit but may not start

Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage is likely to have to settle for a place on the bench for tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Savage played 70 minutes in the reserves on Tuesday after six weeks out of action with a groin injury, however, it appears this tie may have come too soon for a starting place.

It means manager Mark Hughes will almost certainly name the same side that defeated Southampton 3-0 last Saturday, with Garry Flitcroft ready to take up his place in midfield despite requiring eight stitches for a lengthy gash in his left leg.

Team (from): Friedel, Neill, Flitcroft, Dickov, Pedersen, Mokoena, Reid, Thompson, Matteo, Todd, Nelsen, Amoruso, Emerton, Tugay, Short, Stead, Savage, Johnson, Enckelman.
