Squad places for Bowyer, Dyer

Disgraced Newcastle duo Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer have been included in the squad for tomorrow night’s UEFA Cup quarter-final, first leg clash with Sporting Lisbon at St James’ Park.

The former Leeds midfielder and his fellow England international, who begin four and three-game domestic bans, respectively, at the weekend, are available for selection, although it is understood that Bowyer is unlikely to start.

Patrick Kluivert and Celestine Babayaro (both knee) are still out, as is Titus Bramble (hernia) as he continues his recovery from surgery, while Nicky Butt is a doubt with a similar problem, but Robbie Elliott is included for the first time since having an operation to cure his own knee injury.
