Hill favourite for Cork City assistant job
Dave Hill is expected to be announced as Cork City assistant manager sometime this week.
The former Cobh Ramblers manager was in the Cork dugout alongside Damien Richardson for last week’s 1-0 victory over Longford Town and Richardson revealed he will decide this week whether to keep on the former Cork and Bohemians hard man.
“I need somebody with me. Dave has plenty of experience. He knows what it takes to be a winner and that is a vital ingredient of an assistant,” said Richardson.
“Dave is the best example of a man who is single-minded enough to maximise his potential.”
If Hill is named assistant this week, it will ends months of speculation. Hill, who resigned as Cobh boss last season, was in the running to be Pat Dolan’s assistant following the departure of Noel O'Connor in January until Dolan’s dismissal.
