Speed back in Bolton midfield as Henry side-lined for Gunners
Gary Speed returned to the Bolton midfield and took the captain’s armband for the FA Cup quarter-final with Arsenal at the Reebok Stadium in the absence of Jay-Jay Okocha who had a hamstring injury.
Nicky Hunt also returned at the back following a dislocated shoulder and Vincent Candela had to settle for a place on the bench.
Bolton were looking to continue an impressive run of only one defeat in 12 games since the turn of the year.
With Thierry Henry sidelined with a calf strain, Jose Antonio Reyes partnered Dennis Bergkamp in the Arsenal attack.
Robert Pires was recalled after the Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich with Ashley Cole on the bench.
