Second Brazilian coup for Garforth
Garforth Town have announced Brazilian World Cup legend Romario will play for them next season.
The former Barcelona star and FIFA World Player of the Year recently announced his retirement but, according to the Yorkshire club, he will not abandon football completely.
A statement on the club’s website, www.garforthtown.com, read: “Garforth Town is delighted to announce that Brazilian legend Romario will be making the move to The Marston’s Stadium for the 2005-06 season.”
Another Brazilian star, World Cup winner Socrates, turned out for the club in a Northern Counties East Division One fixture earlier this season.
