Hughes turns to Mokoena
Blackburn manager Mark Hughes resisted the temptation to turn to the old head of Craig Short to replace the suspended Andy Todd for this bitter Lancashire derby and instead picked South Africa captain Aaron Mokoena.
With a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals awaiting the victors, Hughes played safe and otherwise stuck with the line-up which drew 0-0 at Turf Moor.
Frank Sinclair’s surprise inclusion was a boost for Burnley – he had been expected to miss out with a hamstring injury – but his experienced partner in central defence John McGreal was ruled out by a back problem.
