Liam Miller will play for Manchester United’s second string side against Liverpool at Wrexham tonight.

The Irish international has struggled to make an impact during his first season at Old Trafford following a summer move from Celtic and was not even on the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 win over Portsmouth.

However, Miller could push himself into contention for a place in the Red Devils squad to face Crystal Palace at the weekend with an impressive performance against Liverpool.

David Bellion, Gerard Pique and Jonathan Spector will also be involved in this evening’s encounter, as will teenage Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi.
