Spurs broke promises - Santini

Former France and Tottenham coach Jacques Santini admits he “dug his own grave” when he agreed a contract with the London club before Euro 2004.

Santini announced his imminent departure as France prepared to defend their title but a disappointing 1-0 quarter-final defeat at the hands of eventual winners Greece – his only reverse in a competitive match with Les Bleus - ensured his two-year tenure ended with a chorus of criticism.
