O'Leary backs under-fire Sorensen

David O’Leary has given his backing to goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen even though he admits the Danish international has not matched the “unbelievable standard” he set last season.

Sorensen moved from Sunderland to Villa Park in the summer of 2003 and played a major role in the club’s plucky challenge for a European spot last season, only missing out on goal difference.
