Redknapp makes changes for Everton's visit

Harry Redknapp handed new signings Nigel Quashie and Henri Camara their third starts for Southampton as Everton’s new striker James Beattie made his return to St Mary’s.

Beattie left Southampton only last month in a deal which provided funds for Redknapp’s spending spree.

But Redknapp’s delight today at being able to recall defender Graeme Le Saux after injury was dampened by the loss of goalkeeper Antti Niemi.

The Finn faces three weeks out with more knee problems. Paul Smith took over in goal.

Everton, without Leon Osman, otherwise produced a largely familiar line-up with fit-again Nigel Martyn back in goal and new boy Mikel Arteta from Real Sociedad on the bench.
