Eagles lands at Watford

Watford have signed Manchester United midfielder Chris Eagles on a three-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Old Trafford, but Watford boss Ray Lewington has seen enough to believe he can make an impact at Vicarage Road in the remainder of the season.

“The boy’s got great potential,” Lewington told the club’s official website, www.watfordfc.co.uk. “He’s a Hertfordshire lad, so in a sense he’s coming home.

“Alex Ferguson has been very good in letting us have him for three months and I think he can help us.”

Eagles has made six starts and three substitute appearances in his United career.
