Morientes to pen deal on Friday: Agent

The agent of Fernando Morientes has confirmed the player is currently undergoing a medical at Liverpool with a view to signing a three and a half year contract with the Premiership club.

Gines Carvajal said his client was on Merseyside and close to sealing a deal with Rafael Benitez’s men.

He said: “Morientes is undergoing his medical. The player will be presented tomorrow at around 1pm and he will sign a three and a half year contract with Liverpool.”

Liverpool and Real Madrid have agreed a £6.3m (€9m) fee for the Spain striker and, should the medical pass without a hitch, he is set to make his debut against Manchester United on Saturday.
