Murray commits to Cork City
Cork City captain Dan Murray has signed a new two-year contract at Turner's Cross.
Signed by Liam Murphy in 2002, Murray, 23, has developed a reputation as a fine defender and gained the captaincy under Pat Dolan.
His decision is a big boost for City boss Dolan who admits that he is being frustrated in his pursuit of potential transfer targets by players' wage demands.
Meanwhile, Cork winger Billy Woods has insisted he wants to stay on Leeside despite interest from Waterford United. Thirty-one-year-old Woods is out of contract though he is determined to remain at Turner’s Cross.
Woods said: “The ball is in the club's court at this stage and they know what I am looking for. I have no interest in going anywhere else.”
