Cup attendances highest for 25 years

The FA Cup is going from strength to strength, with the highest average attendance levels for the third round in almost 25 years, the Football Association have declared.

The 31 ties played over the past weekend attracted a total of 535,487 spectators, giving an average of 17,273 at each game.
