Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell has recalled Michael Duberry from his loan spell at Stoke in a bid to ease his defensive crisis ahead of Saturday’s FA cup tie at Birmingham.

The 29-year-old centre-back had his three-month stay at the Britannia Stadium cut short as Paul Butler and Clarke Carlisle are suspended.

Blackwell had been considering playing either Sean Gregan or Simon Walton in the heart of defence, but he has decided to bring back Duberry, who is in line to start the third-round clash at St Andrews.

Duberry played 15 times for the Potters, who kept seven clean sheets during his time at the club.
