Reds depleted for Burnley match

Liverpool will be stretched to the limits at Burnley in the FA Cup third round on Friday.

Rafael Benitez is without Xabi Alonso for 10 weeks with his broken ankle and Chris Kirkland is likely to be sidelined until April after another back operation. He already has Djibril Cisse, Harry Kewell, Josemi and Vladmir Smicer out long-term.

But there is a chance that top scorer Milan Baros could be fit enough to resume after his hamstring problem. Benitez will add youngsters David Raven, Stephen Warnock, Zak Whitbread and John Welsh to his squad.
