Bolton contest Ben Haim charge

Bolton will contest the Football Association’s decision to charge defender Tal Ben Haim with improper conduct.

The 22-year-old was charged after an incident with Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Rooney shoved Haim in the face and Israeli centre-back appeared to over-react by throwing himself on the ground.

United boss Alex Ferguson said after the match: “He (Ben Haim) laid down there for about two minutes rolling around, which is absolutely disgraceful as far as I am concerned.”

The Trotters have confirmed they will appeal and have until January 20 to do so.
