Delaney puts Villa on Giggs alert
Mark Delaney has warned his Aston Villa team-mates to be aware of a back-on-song Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs ahead of tonight’s Barclays Premiership clash.
He slammed the boo-boy treatment handed out to fellow Welsh international Giggs by a section of Red Devils fans earlier this season.
Delaney will now be forced to miss the Villa Park meeting after sustaining a groin injury during Villa’s 1-0 defeat at Chelsea on St Stephen's Day.
But he has been closely monitoring the return to top form of Giggs, who was again on the score-sheet in United’s 2-0 win over Bolton at Old Trafford.
Delaney said: “He looks to be playing well and it is just coinciding with him coming down to our place. He has always been a world class player for me.
“It was, for me, only a matter of time before he turned things around and started putting in the kind of performances like he has been doing recently.”
