Shamrock Rovers get new hope over Tallaght stadium

Fianna Fáil TD, Charlie O'Connor has had extensive contacts with both Shamrock Rovers and South Dublin County Council in the hope of finding a way for the club to be able to use the stadium in Tallaght.

Deputy O'Connor said: "The Council has now agreed that it is willing to proceed with further contacts with the club with a view to completing the project, on the provision that the current leaseholder of the Tallaght site Mulden International stands aside."

He said that he believed that this offers an opportunity to progress with the project and that it will provide Shamrock Rovers and Tallaght with a top-of-the-range facility instead of "a half constructed derelict eyesore".
