Khalilou Fadiga will play for Bolton reserves tonight after doctors gave him the all-clear to return to training following recent heart problems.

The Senegalese midfielder will take on Manchester City's second string in the Manchester Senior Cup after doctors fitted him with a defibrillator to combat the problems which have blighted his short Bolton career.

However, the St Stephen's Day fixture at Manchester United will be too soon for Fadiga to return to first-team action, as manager Sam Allardyce will give him at least another two run-outs with the reserves.
