Ronaldinho named World Player of the Year

Barcelona’s brilliant Brazilian Ronaldinho was tonight named FIFA’s World Player of the Year as Thierry Henry had to settle for the runners-up spot for the second year running.

Arsenal’s French striker came close to Ronaldinho in the voting by international coaches and captains, and afterwards insisted he was pleased to have achieved such recognition in two consecutive years.
